Invisible wall speakers have been around since the 1990s, yet surprisingly, very few people are aware of their existence and capabilities. In recent years, advancements in technology have enabled us to refine this craft significantly and to mass produce these innovative audio products. Invisible speakers are indeed just as their name suggests: they are designed to be invisible. These speakers or subwoofers are installed directly into the wall or ceiling and then elegantly covered over, while still managing to deliver an incredible sound experience and impressive acoustics that can transform any space.

During our onsite meeting, the client expressed a strong interest in installing high-quality speakers in their renovated basement for an enhanced movie-watching experience, sports viewing, and social gatherings. The renovations were extensive, with drywall already installed and prepared. However, as the project neared completion, it became more difficult to drill into the studs and run speaker wire. The desired speaker installation location was narrow, presenting additional challenges. After determining the television dimensions, we noted there was less than 20 inches of space on each side, which limited our options.

During our extensive discussions, we thoroughly contemplated the various options available for both ceiling and wall installation. After careful consideration, we ultimately decided to proceed with wall installation, primarily due to the limitations posed by how far along the renovation process was at that point. From there, we focused our attention and narrowed down our choices to two specific options: the invisible series speakers and the architectural series speakers! (See Images IS & AS). The client, who was very particular about aesthetics, expressed a desire to avoid cluttering the wall with additional components and ultimately chose to go with the invisible series speakers because of the exceptionally clean look and refined finish they provide. The invisible series speakers truly stand out as they allow you to drywall or wallpaper directly over them, enabling you to maintain a seamless appearance while still fully enjoying the immersive experience of high-quality music and sound!

The day of install is here!

Speaker templates made it easy for the client to see the installation spot and give thier final approval.
Templates were sketched out on the wall so we could remove the drywall. We learned that the TV wall had a false back and could make installation a little simpler for running wires from our amplifier to the speakers.
We had to add some blocking since the 20” space we had on each side of the TV had a stud in the center of it.
We installed braces for the speakers to screw into and act as one flat plane of drywall for the future crews to come in to tape and mud.
Speaker installation was seamless and easy with the prep-work done before and the pre-drilled holes for mounting the speakers.
Painting the walls was the final step to creating a aesthetically pleasing wall and installation of invisible speakers!
